Red Skiff Restaurant in Rockport

Stayed 2 nights in Rockport and ate breakfast BOTH mornings at the Red Skiff based on the recommendation of locals. Service was excellent and the food was amazingly fresh and good. Tried the fish cakes and eggs for breakfast and LOVED it. Homemade tartar sauce was the best I have ever tasted. Food was a great value and the locals that were eating there made us feel welcome.

Coconut Halibut is best I’ve ever had.

Really enjoyed my chowder and cup of coffee on a chilly day. Andrew was great and provided super friendly conversation and hospitality. Would recommend this place for a relaxing, tasty stop in Rockport.

Horrible horrible horrible service. There are only 7 tables in this place and 5 or 6 seats at the bar. We ordered our food. Each of the 7 tables had people sitting at them. It took an hour and twenty minutes before our food came out. We had one blueberry pancake, 5 eggs over easy, and a scoop of the corned beef hash. AN HOUR AND TWENTY MINUTES. nobody had food on their tables. Yet, when I looked behind in the kitchen, the workers were eating a takeout order that the person who originally ordered it got sick of waiting for his food. I would never recommend this place to anybody.

The breakfast was terrific! I had the Portugese Omelette with Linguica, sauteed onions and tomatoes - really tasty and filling - I couldn't eat it all! Homefries were freshly made and the Cinnamon Raisin toast was like cake! Mmmmm - so good! Grest chefs! The waitstaff were very helpful, attentive and personable! Oh and try their homemade muffins as well! Unbelievable! All in all a great experience - very reasonable pricing, and I got lucky and found a parking spot out front...... Run to the "Red Skiff" - you'll love it! Oh, and they played great music too (from my generation), thanks to Shane!

Coming in from a cold April morning, warms the soul and the tummy. The staff are friendly and helpful. I had the special at the counter and enjoyed the flavors they put together. Comfort food indeed! A great place to stop first thing in the morning...

I had the Anadama French toast. It was terrific! I even went towards the kitchen and let the cooks know! Highly recommend this spot for breakfast.

Great breakfast!

I've given the 'new place' half a dozen chances, and - sorry to say - it's not consistant enough for 'a local'. I'm sure it suits most visitors just fine, though.Yesterday the place was freezing the entire hour we were there for breakfast....which made THAT and the coffee get cold pretty quickly. Food was (would've been) okay, but nothing outstanding. Sorry. In a town where restaurants are a big draw, this is a 'pass' for me.

It was it was a great little place staff was very friendly and the food was great, in nice little quaint town... went by boat and docked and went to eat.. loved it

When a place is only open for breakfast and lunch I have high expectations for an excellent breakfast. This one was OK. The potatoes and sausage links were both deep fried. Eggs were good. Staff was very friendly. A little more effort in the kitchen (don't throw everything in the fryer) would really make the Red Skiff shine.

Prices went up and quality of food went down.

Lovey little place for a coffee, a nice bite to eat and to be able to see the ocean from your table. As out of towners, the locals and the owners were very welcoming.

Good breakfast. The anadama bread is fabulous.

Unfortunately ownership has changed hands and it's just not the same. The food was good but if your looking for the classic red skiffs feel, ambiance and more importantly menu. It's no longer there. Sad.

The food was incredibly delicious: they do a mean lobster roll, and the smoked salmon BLT was probably the best BLT I've ever had. The friendly service and cute and cozy ambience were the cherries on top.

I had a Portuguese style shrimps and it was excellent.Cofeee a nd local bread was great too.The place is casuel.Service very friendly.

Best veggie wrap ever

We had breakfast for 4 on a Saturday morning. The eggs were excellent and seemed to be farm fresh and everything was delicious. The small number of tables makes it a very enjoyable Rockport experience and the owners are wonderful people who care about what they do. Highly recommend.

Small place with great food and friendly service. The food came out fast and was reasonably priced. The only downside are the somewhat limited hours, especially on Sunday. Regardless, it's a great spot that's worth a visit.

Nice diner food. Clean and quick service. A small place...seats about 15-20 people. On street pay parking. Next time I'm in Rockport, I will definitely return.

You can't go wrong with anything you order here, from mouthwatering home-made muffins to pitch-perfect lobster rolls. Don't miss the anadama bread toast with breakfast, made from a hearty, slightly sweet loaf. After the meal, walk around the corner for the best views of Rockport's famed Motif #1.

If size mattered when it comes to diners...this place would be terrible. NOPE! Best breakfast around in my humblest opinion. If you're in Rockport, get breakfast here and get the best taste of the local flavor.
